No entanto, o pequeno animal (que cabe até na palma da mão de uma criança) tem se reproduzido em uma proporção fora do que é considerado normal.
Segundo Randy Baldresca, biólogo e pesquisador, o número de bichinhos andando pelas ruas deve aumentar até 70% nos próximos dois anos.
“Se o acúmulo de lixo permanecer nas ruas, a população continuar mal informada em como lidar com o animal e o número de edificações for ampliado, a situação vai se agravar”, diz Baldresca.
