O evangelista Billy Graham publicou recentemente um artigo sobre as profecias bíblicas sobre a volta de Jesus Cristo, que destacam que a situação mundial se tornará cada vez pior antes do arrebatamento.
Em seu texto, Graham, que tem 97 anos de idade, aponta que a iminência da volta de Jesus Cristo está estampada nos conflitos e guerras espalhados pelo mundo, e que os fiéis não devem ignorar tais alertas.
“Pouco antes de voltar para o céu, Jesus disse aos discípulos que um dia Ele iria voltar para estabelecer Seu reino. Mas antes que isso pudesse acontecer, Ele disse que certas coisas teriam que acontecer, e nós vemos muitas deles hoje”, afirmou Graham no artigo escrito para o jornal The Kansas City Star.
Destacando que a Bíblia desencoraja a previsão do tempo exato da volta de Jesus, Graham afirmou que é possível que a humanidade esteja vivendo os últimos dias antes do retorno glorioso do Filho de Deus, e que por isso, os cristãos devem caminhar com a certeza de que Sua volta é certa.
Citando Marcos 13:10, Graham lembrou que o próprio Jesus ordenou a pregação do Evangelho a todo o mundo antes do fim: “Isso poderia parecer impossível há algumas décadas, mas a tecnologia moderna trouxe o mundo junto com ela. O Evangelho está sendo pregado em todo o mundo através do rádio, da televisão e da internet”, ponderou.
Ainda discorrendo sobre os alertas bíblicos, o evangelista lembrou que o próprio Jesus previu que satanás faria uma “última tentativa de deter a obra de Deus por meio de um ataque sólido do mal”, e que os conflitos entre nações e grupos extremistas podem ser parte dessa investida: “O nosso mundo não é um estranho para o mal; Satanás sempre trabalhou para deter os planos de Deus, mas agora os inimigos de Deus têm acesso a armas modernas de destruição em massa, e ninguém pode prever qual será o resultado”, afirmou, expressando preocupação.
“Jesus disse: ‘Vocês ouvirão falar de guerras e rumores de guerras, mas não tenham medo. É necessário que tais coisas aconteçam, mas ainda não é o fim. Nação se levantará contra nação, e reino contra reino. Haverá fomes e terremotos em vários lugares (Mateus 24: 6-7)’”, acrescentou.
Ao final de seu artigo, o evangelista sugere às pessoas que depositem sua fé e esperança em Jesus: “Não encare Suas advertências despreocupadamente, mas entregue a sua vida, sem demora, a Jesus Cristo”.
